1975 Triumph TR6 for Sale - $8,895

1975 tr61975 TR6, Red with Black interior. Interior is in very good condition with no tears or marks. New top, new walnut dash and rear tonneau cover. Car is in good mechanical condition and well maintained. It  runs strongly. Tuneups and any repairs have been done by Octagon Motors. Driver's side rocker panel needs replacing and there are a couple of rust spots on the driver's side rear fender and one above the passenger side headlamp. I've owned the car since Sept. 2007 and driven a little over 7, 000 miles mostly on the highway. It a great driver and handles well on curving mountain roads and has plenty of acceleration for passing and steep hills. I've driven it to the Okanagan numerous times and once to the Bay area in California, The car is completely stock and has Collector plates. I've decided to sell this car as I travel frequently and don't have the time to drive it as often as it would like to be. This is a car for someone who enjoys giving classic British sports cars the attention they need.

195x Triumph TR3 -Small Mouth Project for Sale - offers

195x tr3My history with TRs started in 1969 when I bought a 1958 TR3A as my first car (wire wheels, ODrive $895, went like stink!) and used it all through university. I sold it and I moved on through a series of other British cars until I found this car sitting in a garage in Delta BC about 30 years ago. It was already in pieces and I thought it was going to be a great way to while away some time as my family grew up. WRONG!! So there it sat. Fortunately we ended up moving to a farm in the Fraser Valley and I have been able to store it inside my machine shed ever since.

I have attached a few pictures to show what is available and what kind of shape it is in. I have never had the time to inventory the parts but certainly all of the major body parts are there and, with a bit of rust along the panel joints, generally in good shape. I’m not a bodyman but I would think that all of them are either good as they are or repairable. The floorboards have been replaced and the body has been lifted from the chassis.

The transmission does NOT have overdrive and part of the flywheel housing/flange is broken (7cm). I have two engines in various states of di195x tr3sassembly. I be195x tr3lieve that one195x tr3 complete engine could be put together from the parts. 2 sets of SUs, 1 exhaust header and 1 stock manifold.

The chassis does roll and I have a toy hauler and delivery can be arranged in the Lower Mainland.

In the “worst for last” category it came with no paperwork and there are no ID plates on the body. Apart from identifying the lineage and authenticity (a big deal!) it still can be registered when it is fixed up.

1974 Triumph Spitfire for Sale - $16,500   *** New Price Reduction ***

1974 Spitfire

At the age of 93 I have to accept reality and reluctantly part with my best 1500. It took us 870 hours, over a four year period, plus an expenditure of $19,139.00 to complete this meticulous frame-off restoration. It is showroom perfect and equipped with a rare J type overdrive. Due to a failing clutch knee and other health problems I have only clocked 990 miles on the rebuilt engine and differential. At the 2005 Vancouver All British Field Meet this Spitfire placed First in Class but more eminently was selected by a group of judges, using Pebble Beach judging forms, to edge out all the other British competing models and become the recipient of the Under $35,000 Debuting Restoration Award. Add it to your classic collection or just be one of the proudest driver’s around!1974 Spit1974 Spit1974 Spit

TR6  Dealership Information wanted

Do you have any info about a Vancouver Dealership called  McLaughlin Levy

tr61

This request-for-information comes to you from the other end of the country. Saint John, New Brunswick.
I own a mint condition 1976 Triumph TR6 that I purchased from its
original owner some time ago. It still has the original dealership tag on the rear of the car!!
14,500 mi
les currently. The car was purchased - new - from McLaughlin-Levy, a British-Leyland dealer located in Vancouver,BC. The car was purchased in April 1977. Purchase price: $7,124, taxes included.
I was wondering if any of your members would have any photographs or
information about this dealership?
I am researching the history of my car and it turns out it was one of
the last TR6s to be produced. CF/57601- U  came off the assembly line on June 29th, 1976. Two weeks later, the factory closed for good.
The car is going to be featured in an upcoming issue of Triumph World magazine.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

TR6  Information Wanted

Did you ever own this 1976 TR6 - CF54309U

Hello fellow Triumph enthusiasts. I'm asking for help in pulling together the ownership lineage and history on my 1976 TR6. I wish I were less anal... I appreciate this ad is a long shot. The Commission number is CF54309U and it's colour was Pimento Red (72) with a black interior (Trim 11). My BMIHT Certificate tells me the car's build date was March 10, 1976 and it was shipped to British Leyland Motors Canada Limited, Halifax on the vessel "Tosca" in May 1976. I think it was later shipped to BC for sale as a new car. I bought it in BC in 2008 and have been able to trace ownership back to 1991 with the help of previous owner Doug Chinnery who had the car for 15 years. I'd love to hear from an owner or someone who knew the car and of course, to know where the car was sold new. Thankyou.

TR3A  Information Wanted

Did you ever own this TR3a? TS/39825-L

It was built in England on Nov. 24, 1958 and shipped from the factory on Dec. 10 to Standard Motors on Seymour St. in Vancouver. Probably sold as a 1959 model because that was the year on the registration.  Based on the fact that the front of the right chassis rail was crushed and filled with dirt & grass I assume it was rallied for the summer of 1959 before being sold to a UBC student from whom I purchased it on a wet windy night in early January 1960.  The car was originally red w/ black interior and served as our family car until it was retired in 1972.  It languished in storage for 28 years until I could finally restore it in 2000.  The chassis # is TS/39825-L, the engine # is TS/40508-E and the body # is 1014838.  Neither the MVA nor ICBC can help my tracing due to privacy concerns so if anybody has any info. that might help I'd like to talk to you. Contact me and I'll  phone you to discuss.
